The client is a return client who wanted to update the findings from a previous study done some years ago. This is with regards to the viability of the Philippines as a market for legal research tools, and the needs for specific legal tools demanded by legal professionals.

The study was conducted using Computer Aided Telephone Interviews with 105 legal professionals who had decision-making responsibilities within their firms.
The respondents were a mix of:
The majority of research was found to be conducted via case files, archives, commentaries, and the internet; and a large percentage also used some form of external legal resource. Also, the most preferred platform for legal information was found to be electronic platforms. The top 3 law types in Philippines were Criminal Law, Civil Law and Corporate Law. The distribution of research conducted among various categories was also found to be the highest for these 3 law types.
Based on the findings from this study, our client had a better understanding of the legal landscape in the Philippines and what their customers’ needs are. They also made more legal information available and accessible for their customers, while also improving their website design to allow easier and more user-friendly navigation.
